Michael Ashanti never quite fit in. A son of Jamaican immigrants, Michael’s father’s military career took him and his family to multiple U.S. states and a number of countries around the globe. As Michael went out on his own, he felt something pulling him beyond the borders of the land in which he was born, and ultimately decided to give up U.S. citizenship altogether.
